Convention canceled but still learned a lot

It was that time of the year again to attend the AAHPERD National Convention. Last years Convention was in San Diego, California and was an amazing experience. Not only was the weather perfect but the amount of information given was astonishing. This year however was a little different. This years national convention was located in Boston, MA. A great spot for a convention because Boston is such a great historic city. However, due to an electrical issue that caused a power outage in downtown Boston, the Convention was delayed. At first, it was delayed a couple of hours. But then those hours turned into a few days which eventually turned into the entire event. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to continuing my education and becoming a better physical educator. But after my friends and I decided to make the best of the trip, we ended up having a good time. We decided to visit some of the most famous attractions in Boston such as the Kennedy Museum and Fenway Park.  So what was supposed to be an educational opportunity for physical education turned into an educational opportunity for other subjects. One of the more important lessons I learned was that learning should never stop. I could have easily spent my time in Boston going to the same old stores, watching tv, and eating in, but instead decided to expand my knowledge of things I'm not as familiar with. Even though I had to put my physical education opportunity on hold I was able to expand my knowledge i other subjects. So for those of you who think you know it all when you have a "certification", you do not, and you need to keep learning every day to continue becoming a better educator.
